Description
MMIP Family Matters, In the Service of the Families of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People
Founded in 2023, MMIP is a Registered Federal Indigenous Charitable Organization, dedicated to providing no cost services and support to families and victims of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People. Through our three core pillars—Justice, Prevention, and Healing—we provide culturally tailored services that empower, protect, and support Indigenous victims and families.
Our Justice Pillar bridges the gap between law enforcement and Indigenous families, offering free advocacy from retired major crime detectives to ensure accountability and understanding.
Through our Prevention Pillar, we leverage technology like safety-focused smartphone apps and building smart safe homes and communities based in spirituality, culture and safety.
Our Healing Pillar offers free, culturally grounded trauma care, including neurotherapy, equine-assisted therapy, Indigenous counseling, and Elder-led support.
By integrating training and employment opportunities, MMIP ensures long-term solutions for Indigenous resilience. Together, we are building a safer, more just future for Indigenous people through unwavering commitment, advocacy, and cultural empowerment.
